I'm looking to get me a shotty and I think I'm going to get the 870. I found one for $395 all black 12ga magnum with 7+1 capacity. Is that a good price? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Not bad.

But if you're pinched for cash you can get a good quality copy of the 870 from Norinco for under $200. I have the Norinco 98 and it's great for the money. The only drawback is that magazine extensions for the 870 don't fit. Stocks do. This one is $195 from a local dealer through Davidsons.

If you have a Big 5 sporting goods store in your area check them out, they always have Rem. 870's, and or Mossy 500's on sale all the time.

Rem. Security $305, that's the local price at the store near me. I'm sure you can get a better price elsewhere though. http://big5sportinggoods.shoplocal.c...pagenumber%3d2

The Norinco's are a little rough around the edges but pretty solid.

Buy a used one and they can be had for under $200.00 in your patient.

You can buy a new 870 express for about $275 if you look around. You can also buy a 18.5" barrel for $140 or so. Add $25 for a mag extension and you can have 2 guns (one for hunting, one for home defense) for $340. If you buy used you can save a bit.
