I've heard good things about them. I actually looked at one yesterday in my local shop. DA was heavy but easy and SA was great. I had a Polish P-64 and compared to it's DA, it was much, much better. Trigger reach was a little long for me, but it may force a little better finger position. Check out Makarov.com they have some good info under "other 9x18", as well as parts and accessories. It is listed under FEG PA-63. http://www.makarov.com/others/index.html

I have a couple of them. They are nice little shooters. Both of the ones I got had so little use they required a couple hundred rounds to break them in. One caution the aluminium frame makes them light and that combined with the pistol design and grip make them have a strong recoil. About 50 rounds or so is all I can take and then my hand is sore the next day or two.

I have a PA-63 and it's a good pistol. Not as nice as a Makarov. The DA trigger is damn heavy, but the SA trigger is good. It's got a notable recoil for a 9mm mak pistol.

I think he means the French PP Manuhrin(sp? I can't remember). It was an autoloader somewhat similar in design to the Walther PPK that was once the standard sidearm of the French National Police and, I believe, Military. It was chambered in the .32 ACP cartridge (which I want to think they called the 7.65?). Some people seem to be pretty fond of them, thought I think most of those people are probably Germans who remember with great nostalgia the sound of them hitting the soft Ardenne Forest Floor.

There good guns based on the Walther design. Wolff springs makes reduced power main springs that makes the triggers sweet. If you get one, DO NOT use anny +P or any ammo heavier than 95gr. The frame will not stand for it. You can break it, I've seen one that was flexed and had 2 stress cracks in it from shooting alot oh 'heavy' ammo all the time. Great guns for the money, though not alot of aftermarket parts other than grips, springs and out of spec replacement barrels from the Sportsman Guide.....get one, you'll like it.

14-18 pounds. I have an 11 that I 'tuned' down to a 9. Single breaks at a shade over 3 pounds. Unless you have big or fat hands, the PA won't bite you, the grip is a little bigger.

The stock trigger on PA is a little heavier than a Bersa Thunder .380. It has to wear in though because this new batch of PAs are like brand new. You can adjust the trigger weight by clipping coils off the spring, 1/2 a coil at a time.
