Refinish (pics)

As some of you know, Im building an HD shotty and part of that build includes refinishing. I got the finish in yesterday and thought I would try it out on my well carried 1911. here are the results. Total time involved was less than 2 hours. I did not refinish the sights.
Before

After

I may be refinishing more of my guns now.

Thank you sir, if you ever get tired of your XD's color, let me know. I think im going to test this stuff on some bare metal and sit it outside. Its a Moly Resin and im anxious to see its true protective properties. Its a thermaly cured coating that forms a barrier to acids, oils, paint removers, powder solvents, bore cleaners, etc... Its supposed to provide excellent corrosion protection and abrasion resistance and lubricity to meet automatic weapon dry firing requirements after 60 days seawater immersion. It also meets or exceeds the hardness of Epoxy and Teflon thermally cured. Its also the finish applied to USSOCOM products for H&K and the US military such as the sound suppresors for the H&K Mark 23 SOCOM .45 pistol used by the Navy SEALS and SF.

Should be good enough for my guns if those people trust it!

What's the name of this product and where could someone like me get their hands on it? PM me if you don't care to post it publicly.

well, you showed us a picture of the "before" side, then changed the "after" side. Honestly, to me, it just looks like you took a picture with no flash in the "before" and then took the "after" with flash. maybe i am color blind. the first pic looks like black, and the second looks like a aluminum. help me out, i am not bashing you here, just trying to get it straight.

I took the before picture a couple months ago. I recoated the entire gun, not just the one side. The color I applied is called Grey-Black, the original color was Black. Sorry if the picture qualities dont show the true nature of the finish. Its almost looks like a parkarizing.

the frame and the slide almost are two different shade. I love the look of the gun I almost want to redo some of mine now.

Is it Norrell's?
I refinished my XD, my 38 charter arms and a friends 1911 with Norrells a couple of years back and it's held up great.

Nice job.
