Are there ne rifle shooters here that consider there rifle a "sniper rifle" ? If so does it have a bull barrel? A fluted barrel?
Well if so lets c some photos. And how many rounds do u put threw it one after another until u consider the barrel to be heated up? Blake. |

i got a FN SPR in .308 topped off with a schmidt and bender scope, and a springfield M1A supermatch with a leupold scope. I also have something else in the build but i cannot reveal yet. both i consider sniper rifles for different applications the FN does have a big ole bull barrel on it and the M1a has a Match barrel in it. both are fantastic guns... sorry no pics. not really sure what you are asking about or why so idk if i helped at all

for a good sniper rifle you will not have to "heat up" the barrel. ONE SHOT ONE KILL. Seems to work for me. On a personal note I'd go with the M1A with the match barrel

FN SPR in .308
I never shoot very fast but usually shoot three or five round groups and then let the rifle sit while I reload the mag and do a target inspection and/or change. It has a bull barrel and a fairly large one at that so it doesn't heat up quick. I always test it with my hand before I shoot the next group. From what has been explained to me is if you can comfortly hold the barrel it is not too warm. If the barrel is too hot for you to hold on to, it is time to sit it down and let it cool more. |
