Just finished putting one of these on my new shotgun. What a nightmare! The "instructions" were brief and didn't help at all. The screws that hold the front of the shield didn't have any way to turn them (slots, philips head, hex or torex - nothing). The finish was supposed to be blued - it's nothing but flat black paint, which scratched off while trying to attach the screws (holding the head end whith a pair of pliers). It was impossilble to install the way they indicated in the scanty instructions and didn't fit the way they showed it fitting. Finally got it on and adjusted by using a little "common sense" and a lot of muscle power (plus an occasional tap with a hammer....).
I don't recommend this item at all - it's on my shotgun and looks sort of decent, but I'm not sure it was worth the $38 ($28 + $10 S/H) I paid for it. The only advantage I see in it is the ghost ring site set that came with it - major improvement over the original bead front site on the gun. All-in-all, not something I would repeat.....

I always thought that those sights looked rather flimsy and cheap. I'm interested in whether or not they hold up.

I bought an ATI rifle stock years ago and also had a bad expereince. It was WAY out of spec and I had to return it. I am not impressed with any of their aftermarket offerings, really.
Sorry you had a bad expereince. - Brickboy240

$38 friggin bucks? Sheesh...I ordered mine directly from Mossberg for $24 + S&H, which wasn't much. ATI doesn't make very good products from what I hear, thats why I went with the Mossberg shield.

Thanks for the post, I had considered getting this for my 870 since it seemed reasonable for ghost ring sights, but could not find any reviews
