Ankle Holster
I bought an Uncle Mike's ankle holster for my Kel-Tec P-11. I actually love it. It's another alternative carry method for my not so mousey mouse-gun. It's comfortable and it allows me to wear a tucked-in white t-shirt and still conceal.

I have been thinking about picking up an ankle holster myself. Have you worn it enough to be able to identify the advantages and disadvantages?..from your perspective, of course.

Yeah, but they are large enough to bring up over it reliably. They aren't "nut huggers" as my buddy put it. Those won't work. However, Kahkis and loose/relaxed fit jeans tend to work ok. Kahkis are preferable.

I guess my last reply did not go through for some reason. Here it goes again. The disadvantages are that you simply cannot draw from an ankle rig as fast as you can from a waist rig. It really is for just another option for carry. I wear pants year-round, so it is a good option for the summer when I don't like to wear an over shirt due to New Mexico heat. It does not replace my IWB holsters, but supplements them.

Chewie - It sounds like what you are saying is that your CW would be IWB and your BUG on the ankle. I would love to see some video of fast draw practice from an ankle rig. It sounds dangerous.

Not dangerous if you practice right, and there is no such thing as a BUG with your CCW in NM. You have 1 gun on you...that's it. It sucks, but oh well. The law is the law. Check out Ayoob's draw technique for ankle holsters. He has some good pointers.

Slugger, here's that footage you wanted to look at. The video's a little "iffy," so you might have to double click it a few times to restart it once it reloads all the way. That draw was a hair under 2 seconds according to my original movie. I'm not sure how to insert a video time clock, but i will research it.

Have you considered the Ankle Glove? galco makes it, its pretty comfortable, i use one myself. A little pricey but worth the money IMO.
