Lever-action .22?

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a .22 rifle for cheap plinking, and I've looked at the Ruger 10/22 and a few others, BUT, I also have a serious case of nostalgia for lever-action repeaters. Can anyone recommend a good plinking .22LR lever action, preferably from personal experience?

Had a buddy that owned about 4 or 5 Henry's. They were his favorite and he loved them. I shot a few of them, have to admit... they are a lot of fun.
Sorry I cant help you out any better than that.

Get the 10/22. You'll shoot more ammo but .22 ammo is cheap.

My cousin had a very nice browning lever action. (sucks it was stolen)
If I were to buy a lever action 22, it would certainly be the browning!

Winchester

I have a 9422 and a 9410. Both lever actions I have had no issues with. The only problem now is they are double the price due to them not being made any longer.

It's not a lever action (semi auto with a bolt) but we picked up a very inexpensive Mossberg "Plinkster." I sighted it and its $7 scope in yesterday, and I had more fun with that $100 worth of hardware than I've had in ages. And the accuracy is really pretty astounding for something of its ilk. The wife is going to love shooting it.

If your looking for a lever .22, I have to recommend the Marlin 39A. Great "out of box accuracy" and a "centerfire quality" .22 that you can use and pass down to the grandkids. Love my Marlin levers.

I gotta ad the obligatory +1 to that. Marlin 22 LA are bulit the same as their center fire siblings and I have to say some of the more accurate if not just darn fun guns to shoot in the Lever line-ups.
