So I Miss My Old Revolver
Yep...I sort of miss my old .357 Magnum revolver.
It was a cheapy, medium frame Taurus, but it had a....feel too it ya know. I'm thinking about picking up a new medium frame .357 Mag at the Gun Show that's coming to town soon, I was looking at a few of the Rugers. Does anyone have any suggestions in the 300-600 price range?

GP100 I prefer the 6" but I think you might like the 4-5 inch range.

Near as I can remember the ones at gunshows have been in the 300-400$ range for used in stainless. That was all I was looking for then. About a year ago.

Thanks KOL, every time I ask a question you always answer....
I don't know how you maintain an encyclopedic knowledge of this stuff,

I have the blue book of gun values and I read a huge amount of stuff. If you ever have a question on older firearms einheit 13 is the guy to talk to about that.

I might suggest looking at a clean used S&W revolver.
I suspect you will find something in good condition in that price range. If you check the triggers of some of the others against an S&W, you'll find that (assuming the gun really is clean) the S&W trigger is smoother and breaks cleaner.

I recently picked up a snub .357 Ruger for $320.00. It is the SP101 model. It tucks away nicely as a pocket gun and I think I made a good choice. It fills your hands, and is a good shooting pistol. That was the used price by the way.

Rugers just stand up to abuse and hot loads better than Smith's do. They are made with heavy cast frames. Their inards are a little more stout, while it gives way to a less desireable trigger pull it does limit the amout of gunsmith visits if necessary. Older Smith's tend to loose some tuning after a while. I have seen some that are very nice though. I will say stay away from older Rugers though. The Security Six, and the Speed six were great guns, but most were Cop sidearms and very very very well used and abused. Just be wary.
