I shoot the XD better...
Im still getting used to my G17. i find i need to raise the front sight(3 dot trigicons[not night sights])a bit high. when lining the dots up equally, such as "ooo", it shoots low. the front dot is also much larger on the trigicons. more like a "o0o" pattern. is this normal for glocks?
I picked up my sisters XD9, and it was all money from 25 ft, as with my sig. after i played with the 17 for a while, i finally had a killer group pointing the front sight a bit high. like a "o0o" pattern. seems odd. |

No, that doesn't sound normal to me. Make sure the front sight is staked down even with the slide. It sounds like the front sight is either too tall (factory installed a taller sight than necessary) or the sight is sunstaking itself and pointing lower when the sights are properly aligned.
Good luck! B9 |

Also keep in mind that different weight bullets and different loads in 9mm may print differently form the same pistol with the same set of sights.
I noticed this dramatically with my Hi-Power. The 124gr 9mms seemed to print point-to aim, wheras the lighter 115gr and 147gr stuff either went higher or lower. I can only guess that the sights on this FN made/Isralei military issued Hi-Power were designed to print dead-on with the 124gr ammo, because that is what IMI produces and Israel issues to their troops. Makes sense. Other 9mms I have shot group point-to-aim perfectly with the lighter 115gr stuff - I am guessing that the sights were regulated for the more popular 115gr load. Revolvers do this too. My 44 mag Vaquero hits totally different with hot 44 mags than it does with the poder-puff 44 Special cowboy loads. - Brickboy240
