.357 & 10/22 lust list

I have two guns on my list of "NEED TO HAVE". S&W .357 mag and a Ruger 10/22. I'm sold on the 10/22 for sure. I have shot the .357 and it was nice shooting. While dreaming at Gander Mountain the sales guy (I have dealt with him before) said just go big and get a .44?

Anybody have experience using clips with their revolver?

Better than a speedloader?

Moonclips are faster than speed loaders but to use them with cartridges like 357 Magnum and 44 Magnum you have to have the face of the cylinder machined to give clearance for the moon clip. Moon clips were originally made for revolvers chambered for rimless cartridges most notably the 45ACP. I shoot a S&W 610 chambered in 10mm and I often shoot 40S&W in it. Both require the use of moon clips since neither cartridge has rims. Probably the best revolver for use with moon clips is the S&W 625 and other revolvers chambered in the 45ACP. Probably the fastest loading revolver you can own. Revolvers chambered in rimless cartridges also don't need machined since they are made for moon clips from the factor as they don't work without them.

I noticed some needed the cylinder work and others didn't. Thanks for the info. It does appear that some S&W .357 don't need the cylinder work. Lot easier to hang on to brass too. I see reloading in my future.
