Wlather PPK

I have previous experience with Walther weapons. I have had an offer to buy a Wlather PPK .380 for $300. Are the Walther's any good as for just a pocket pistol? I like to be able to shoot about 1000 rounds through a pistol before I trust my life to it. Is the PPK large enough to be able to shoot 200-300 rounds at a day at the range?

i have never fired the walther and don't know much about them.

for the money, you can get a new Bersa .380 for $220 and I trust my life to one of those almost daily.
here's my one question on the walther:

Where is the mag release? Is it on the bottom of the grip or is it a push button on the side (like my bersa, xd, etc)? I really like to be able to drop the mag one handed while getting my back up w/ the other. i think the bottom mag release would be a HUGE pain .

I think that unless U have always had a thing for a PPK (some people have wanted one ever since Bond had 1), I'd pass.

The trigger isn't that good, and I think there are many better guns. I see a mixed bag of reviews on them.

And, I am a HUGE Walther fan of the P99 - but not of the PPK.

I had a Smith and Wesson produced Walther PPK/S. I was able to comfortably able to shoot 200 rounds at the range. I personally had some reliabiliy issues with it. It would stay open as if the mag. was empty when it had rounds left. I bought it from a buddy for $300 with holster and mag. holster. He said he has never had that problem with it. So maybe it was me. I was unable to fix it though. I ended up selling it, more because I needed money at the time. It was a fun gun to shoot.

As far as the mag. release, it is the same as the XD, on the side.

I didn't think the PPK/S had a mag release...I thought you just racked the slide back and released it.

Yes it has a mag release. I suspect you mean it doesn't have a SLIDE release.

I have an S&W-made PPK/S, and never had a FTF or FTE. Dead on the money, and as comfortable to shoot as you can expect a small gun to be.

I have to say the bersa fits my hand much better. The PPK is a little overpriced in my opinion.
