Target gun

I found this while looking at biathlon rifles:

http://www.championshooters.com/1907-2213big.htm

Anybody participate in the biathlon? 30 years ago I was going to give it a try but got married instead. There is a local club in (where else) Boulder.

$2K+ for a rifle is a little steep for me!

Don't forget the $500 for the sight set. We have the pellet version, it looks exactly the same and the price we payed was the same $2000 + $500 for the sight set. Great guns.

This is my wife with the Anschutz .177 pellet rifle.

What's the deal with that Robocop stock? I can understand that adjustments would be desireable, but what else does it do, aside from making "the buture become the present." It almost looks like some recoil absorbing device. I mean, it's a .22lr we're talking about here. The BUTURE is NOW!

Man, I'd love to shoot that at one of our monthly competitions! I bet it would shoot the devil out of my old Suhl 150...

Bullseye is about the size of a silver dollar - need to hit it at 50 meters. That is for the prone position.

Doesn't sound too tough except you have been cross country skiing and you are laying on a blanket on snow with gloves on.

I wonder if I could just use a 10/22? Gander Mountain has them for $164 with the 20% gift card still.

The gun reminds me of KOL's crossed with Terminator's arm.

Classic.

If all you've got to do is hit a silver dollar sized target at 50 yards you don't need some fancy-ass $2k dollar rifle. There are plenty of factory (sub 500 dollar) rifles out there that can do that all day long. You should be more concerned about being able to control your heart-rate, muscles, and technique. A lot of times I'll try shooting with a slightly elevated heart-rate (running down and back from the 200yard range) at 200 or 100 yards just to see how I do. Try it sometime if you havn't, you'll be surprised how much more those sights move when you're heart rate is up even a little bit. It's a fun little excercise to try. I can always hit the targets in the black still, but man does it take a lot more concentration and time to get those sights settled onto the target and a smooth trigger squeeze.

Edit: I'm no type of instructor, so take this for what it's worth. Just a fun exercise I do sometimes at the range when I'm by myself shooting rifles at the longer ranges.
