Beretta 1201FP shotgun ??

Anyone have any experience with the Beretta 1201FP shotguns? I've put a deposit down on one that a friend of mine has in his gun store. Looks to be in excellent shape with the normal (non pistol grip) stock and a surefire forend with integral light. Anything good, bad, or things that I should look out for on it?

Hey I've got no experience with them but it sounds like a great choice in a shotgun.

Give us some reviews when you get it.

I had one a couple of years ago It was a reliable and great shooting shotgun, The only reason I didnt keep it is because it threw slugs and buckshot to differant points of impact. Mine had the pistol grip stock and rifle sights. If it would have had the Ghost ring sights I probably would still have it. The funny thing is that a buddy of mine bet me I couldnt do better than a 12 at skeet with it and I ran 25 so that should say something about the handling

I'm going to shoot it on the 23rd. It does seem to be very light and flickable from what I've handled it in the store. It's a 20" barrel and has 6+1 capacity. The shotgun is actually my friend that owns the store's old gun. He says that it's the fastest shooting factory shotgun that he's ever shot. He's getting rid of it because of capacity. He shoots 3 gun matches and don't like the 6+1. He gets 8+1 out of his 1100 which puts him in better shape when competing.

The 1201FP is the brother of the Benelli M1. I believe its design is the same exact recoil operated system as the Benelli. IIRC, the stocks are also interchangeable, but Benelli stuff has never been cheap. I do prefer the look of the Benelli pistol gripped stock over the Beretta PG stock though.

I'd buy one if I found it at the right price!
