C&R - Finally

Well I mailed off my C&R form today. I was eyeballing a Garand a couple weeks ago and a particular C&R Elligible Mak and thought, I should get a C&R. So I ordered the form and it came, mailed it off back to the ATF. Look forward to it coming in.

Best $30 I ever spent.
Made back many times over with Dealer prices from most distributors on ammunition and parts.

That was a huge reason I decided to go for the license. When it comes in though, I'll be treating myself to a M1 Garand.

It's an FFL (03) that allows you to buy C&R firearms directly from a dealer & collect them without having to go through an FFL 01 holder for a dealer transfer, which can cost anywhere from $25-35 per purchase. You are required by the BATF to maintain a log & record all purchases and any subsequent sales. You can go the the BATF website and they have some good info. You can also get some good info here:

Congrats on the C&R.

I have done enough damage without one of those licenses and would instantly reqiure another 36 gun safe, if I ever got my C&R license.

Be sure to visit Aim Surplus' website and look at their offerings. They have some nice Mausers, Mosins and be sure to pick up a Swiss K-31...you won't regret it.

Welcome to the addiction..I have a hoarde of military surplus arms that I bought back in the heydays of milsurping in the early 90s.

My favorites? The 6.5x55mm Swedish Mausers...no doubt.

Thanks, I've actually been looking at the K-31 as one of my first surplus rifles. Its peeked my interest because I like the way it functions over standard bolts. Not sure about ammo availability though. This sounds nuts but last week someone posted about that CZ-82 they bought from Aimsurplus and the day after I went to an FFL to setup a transfer. I haven't sent the money in but I need to do it soon.

Aimsurplus is good though, I've bought a lot of surplus Guatamallen ammo from them in the past. I have a feeling this C&R will cost me more than 30 bucks =\
