Lot of guys at work use these, seems as though its a good blade... From what I know... SOG, Gerber, etc. are all good working knives.

I've got one. Good production knife, pretty good finish, nice grip, keeps a sharp edge. Has a nice notch in the sheath so you can cut 550 cord without unsheathing it. I don't carry it anymore because I got a CRKT Ultima. Still want a mercworx blade, though.

Excellent knife for the money! I bought mine back in 2002 after I was in a horrible car wreck. I wanted a knife for the car in the event I had to cut myself free from a seatbelt. As it turned out, this knife is much more capable than that. I've since used the knife for camping/kayaking trips, and even used it as a filet knife on a fishing trip. I simply flush the blade with water, dry it, then wipe it down with CLP. This knife is TOUGH! The new ones with the Ti coating would be my choice.
After the positive experiences with the Pup, I went and bought a SOG Trident folder with the S.A.T. opening system. It's super fast and super sharp! Kinda on the big side for a pocket knife, but I make do. |

I've got one and it's been a very good knife. I keep it clipped to my hiking pack so it's always there when I need it; but I like my Randall better.
Of course the price difference is something to consider between the 2, and the 3-4 year wait time on a Randall.
