Anyone familiar with this Bushnell Red Dot?
I've got an AR that I'd love to put an EoTech or Bushnell Holographic on it. BUT, I really don't have the money to spend.
I received my Cabela's catalog yesterday and found this red dot sight - http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...l&N=4887&Nty=1 I found one at Bass Pro Shops that is similar but has one of the sight settings different - 65 MOA circle with 3 MOA dot (versus the Cabela's 5 MOA with a 3 MOA dot). http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...=SearchResults Anyone have experience with either of these or an opinion on them? I know you usually get what you pay for - but Bushnell is a good name in the scope industry and I've had good luck with their other products. Thanks. |

Just know that the optic there will suffer parrallax issues. With dots from 3MOA-10MOA and parrallax issues, that could basically mean getting iron sight accuracy on a red-dot optic. If I were you, I'd wait and save up 100 dollars more to get the Bushnell Holosight.
In the past I've bought the cheaper stuff, because it didn't cost as much at the time, just to regret it down the road. Its now saving me money to just buy the quality equipment first, as they are more reliable, and its actually what I want. Right now I have 2 scopes, 4 pairs of scope rings, all that cost less, but all are inferior in quality. After I added the cost of those up, I realized that I could have just bought quality rings in the beginning and one very good scope for the same price. Now I save my money and buy the quality equipment. |

I am using the 6 MOA dot on my AR and it seems to work fine out to about 200 yards - I've used it basically on prairie dog trips to SD or WY. Parrallax for that purpose has not been a problem at all.
Considering the little time that I use it for prairie dogs, coyotes and range time, I just couldn't justify a higher expense. FYI, I do have a Bushnell Holographic on another gun and I'm very pleased with it as well. I do like the way it projects the dot on the target.
