My Milt Sparks Versa Max II review-1911

Well I have been wearing my Milt Sparks versa max II for a week now and have nothing but great things to say about it. The holster is well made and fits my 5 inch 1911 mil spec perfectly. The first thing I have noticed is after it has broken in a little you get used to it being there and forget about it. I’m not saying you can’t feel it I’m just saying it’s so comfortable you just forget about it. I believe it has a lot to do with how stable it is. I don’t worry about it falling out or folding over the belt. This puts my mind at ease. When I wore a uncle mikes cheap iwb holster in the past I was always noticing it moving around or even sliding out. I was constantly checking it. But now I’m not afraid to run if I have to, Well accept for the heart attack. But I’m confident the gun is secure. I know comparing a uncle mikes holster to a vm2 is like apples and oranges, but that’s the only iwb experience I have for my 1911.

I’m 6'3" 280 pounds and was worried about the love handles and iwb. Once I found the sweet spot, I can stand or sit with no problems. One thing I have noticed is I can’t wear my wallet in my back pocket because the 5 inch muzzle hits it when I sit down. I just wear it in my front pocket. Which works best because I can get my wallet out without exposing my pistol. I wear it with the front strap lined up at 3:00. This puts the muzzle right behind my hip, and keeps it from digging in. I also wear an undershirt to keep the grip from rubbing my skin. I put the vm2 and a Wilson combat spare mag. Pouch on at 7 am on labor day And drove 3 hrs to Georgia to visit family. I drove back and took them off at 8pm. Very comfortable and no one made me. You can bet if my aunt had noticed it she would had said something.

Here is a picture of it with my mil spec.

I have the same holster for a 3" 1911 and I had one for a HK USP compact.45 and I am very impressed by the comfort and quality of this holster

big kitchens,

I understand your concern. I am 6'8" and a shade past 300lbs. My Versa Max 2 is an extremely comfortable holster to carry my Wilson Professional in. All day carry is a breeze. I sometime forget I have it on. It is my only 1911 carry holster. I got rid of the others after I had worn this one a few times.

My VersaMax II for my XDSC works awesome. Makes it feel like its not even there. Just so you can see it with an XD rather than a 1911:
This is the horsehide with sharkskin trim.
