Spotting scope
I'm looking into getting a spotting scope, nothing fancy just something to spot my hits at 100 yards. I'd like to get a variable what power would be best?

Take a look at this one: http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/from-...ate=08_11_2006
Bushnell Sentry 18-36X50mm. I just picked one up and it works good at 100yds for 30 cal holes...may be a stretch at 200 yds but haven't tried it out that far yet. Above link has them for $87.85...most other places I looked carried this scope between $105 and $129. Comes with a hard case and tripod. |

I don't know if it was this forum or another one; but IIRC, there was something said that 55mm lens was recommended as the minimum for a spotting scope.
Notwithstanding that, If you don't shoot long distances that sounds like it would work. I especially like the part about free shipping. I might get that. Just saw the Big 5 ad in the paper today. Big 5 is a large sporting goods chain. They have the same exact scope on "sale" for $99.99, from a "regular" price of $169.99. Since shipping is free, it would be cheaper to go thru the internet. I have a Konus 80MM 20x-60x from Champion Shooters Supply. Cost $180.
Fantastic glass for that price. https://www.championshooters.com/index-ssl.html
