Ruger Vaquero.....?
Ruger Vaquero
Any experience with these? I am looking at a trade for one. Stainless steel, Ivory grips, .357, 4 5/8 inch barrel. Anyone know of any flaws or issues with these? Here's a pic....

I have one in 44 mag. Its a handfull with mag loads. Not to bad with 44 specials. I put some rubber grips on the help with control. Run 38 special loads that one and it should be a nice shooter.

Nice sixgun....I want one in .44 pretty bad, although I prefer the blued/case colored version myself.
Occasionally these will shoot a tad left or right-sometimes more than a tad. If it's under 3" @ 25 yards you can usually experiment with different loads/bullet weights and get pretty close. You can also file a little off one side of the front sight, in the direction you want the bullet to go- as viewed by the shooter. Much more than that and you may need to turn the barrel a little. They normally shoot on or just a little low, with all but the heaviest bullets. If that's the case you can file a little off the top of the front sight to raise the point of impact. A fixed-sight gun that is perfectly regulated with your chosen load, is hard to beat. It'll always be "on" even if you bump it on a door jamb. The downside is that once it's perfect- all misses automatically become the shooter's fault. Did your shoot to the sights with 240's, RDub?

I have one in 44 Mag. with a 5.5 inch barrel in blued/case colored frame.
Nice shooter with any 44Spl load but its a handful with most 44 Mag. loads. I usually load it with 180gr 44 Spls as a pig hunting back-up to my 44 Mag. Marlin lever action (which gets the hotter 44 Mag. loads). They're fun to plink with, using the light "cowboy" lead loads. In 357/38, it ought to be very easy to shoot. - Brickboy240
