My 2nd Hangun ever: Kel-Tec P3AT

What do you think? P3AT Blued 2nd Gen for $239.99 + tax. It's so easy to conceal for me, I can have it anytime. I am only a 5'6 and a half 135lb guy, and this thing does not recoil that bad.

The Kel-Tec compliments the XD really well. It makes the XD seem like a highly refined pistol and expensive pistol.

Seriously, though, not a bad little choice.

I would say the XD is a value packed mid-sized sedan. The Kel-Tec is that old compact beater car that will fit in tight parking spots. I guess I need an SUV next. =) Ahem. 45ACP.

It's a very nice weapon. Personally, for small CCW weapons I prefer a small revolver, for two reasons.

1) less likely to jam
2) doesn't mind being jammed into someone's ribs at close combat... Try that with a slide.. it's not pretty...

Nevertheless, they are wonderful weapons you have....

What happens again if you jam the slide on a semi auto against someone? Does it not fire? I've had this explained to me before, but explain again.

What happens is the slide will be forced back away from the breeach and the gun will not fire. Then your gun is uncocked with a round chambered and you will have to slide the slide back to eject the shell and try and fire again. Valuable seconds wasted.

I'm not sure I see the point to sticking you gun in someones gut/ribs. In most locals you have to be in fear of your life to use deadly force. If thats the case I'm not going to waste time trying to scare them into stopping. I'll be forcing them too.

Chris
I thought that was the main reason for the guide rod sticking out a bit on the front of the slide....it works as a standoff so if you have the gun right up against something you wont push the slide out of battery.
