help on finding a new knife

Ive been carrying a Gerber Paraframe for about 3 years now and ive pretty much worn it out. So im looking for something new, better quality. I guess ill throw out some things im looking for... under 100 bucks, folder, half serrated, very strong locking mech, and a quality steel that will hold a sharp edge. My biggest prob with the gerber was that i could never get it to hold its edge. Any suggestions would be much appreciated,
Thanks

I've always liked ColdSteel and Beretta knives. They hold an edge well. IMO, it is not so much the manufacturer, but the steel [of the knife] and the sharpener you have.

Both of the aforementioned you can find for under $100. Cold Steel offers factory seconds, and ebay is also available to you.

can you post pics of it? Sorry but I'm not a huge knife guy but was interested in seeing what people carried.

I would like to learn to sharpen my knives to a razors edge.

I bought a set of 3 throwing knives the other day, came home and found that they were sharper than my buck knife.

Look for a stainless steel Spyderco Delica, I have the partially serrated.
So sharp from the factory you can dry shave. I bought mine on E-Bay for $53.

I think you'll get opinions all of the over the place here - so here's mine:
I've had a Kershaw Ken Onion Whirlwind for years. I absolutely love the knife.

+1 Kershaw.
I've had LOTS of different knives- throwing, carry and collectible; and for carry purposes, nothing compares to the Kershaw opening mechanisim and steel quality for the price.

I would have to put another vote in for Kershaw. If you do have problems, their customer service is top notch. The torsion bar on my Blackout broke after 5 years of heavy use. Rather than just replace the bar, they sent a new knife.

For the money, Spyderco also makes a great product. I've been carrying a D'Allara Rescue for several months now. It is as sharp now as the day I bought it.
