Smith& Wesson 410

Does anyone know where I can get a Steel Guiderod for a 410??

My FIL just got one and we stripped it down this weekend to find a plastic guiderod?? WTF!!!

Why in the world would they have a plastic rod like that?

BTW, my XD40 outshot the hell out of his 410 hahaha!!

Just call Smith & Wesson. They'll know which one will fit a 410. I think they are around $15.1-800-331-0852

Lol, I know how you feel...plastic guide rod? My Beretta 96 has one, but hey, I guess it works! Someday I will spend $25 bucks and buy a steel one though!

It's kinda funny. HE KNEW I wanted a pistol so he was watching. The day he went out and picked up his 410 the XD 40 was sitting there. After going out and shooting, he wishes he had never ordered the 410 !

It is always a big boost in confidence when you can go out and outshoot a 32 year vet. of the CHP!! Granted, his sights were off a ton but I will take it when I can get it

The 410 may not be the most accurate pistol out there, but it's very reliable. It eats everything you throw at it and after several thousand rounds through mine, I haven't had any failures yet.The only problem I have is the plastic guide rod. The gun functions fine with it but after taking it apart and reassembling it for cleaning many times the plastic is getting somewhat worn where it rests against the barrel and it is kind of hard to keep the rod in place long enough to reassemble everything. So most of the times the recoil spring gets launched a few times.I read on the s&w forum that you can get a ss rod from S&W that will fit.

thanks all!

I will let him know that he needs to call smith for the guide rod. He is going to try and tske it in to the armorer and see if they can get the sights worked out. It shoots low and left for him and low and right for me. It is a very nice gun though

Plastic guide rods have been working just fine in Glocks for over 30 years now.

Doesn't seem to be a problem with them.
