Revolvers
I'm looking for a revolver to carry while I go for runs, car gun, around the house too... an all around use gun. I've already got my XD, but I want a revolver now. I was looking at a few S&W .38 models. I do want to have a hammer, but I want one that isn't too huge to catch on cloths. What do you guys think is a good revolver.

S&w 642
Well I just traded my XD9SC for a S&W 642 5-shot .38 Special. It is much easier to conceal in the summer. Fits in a pocket nicely. The 642 is a hammerless model but they have one with a 'regular' hammer and also a concealed hammer. Check 'em out. I'm happy with mine. Fits in my pocket pretty nicely and it is lighter than the XD. From what research I've done the aluminum model is the best compromise. The really light models have too much recoil and the stainless models are a little too heavy.
You can shoot +P in the newer models. If you buy used I would check to make sure you can use +P ammo in them.

I have a Ruger security six that I would consider trading/Selling. It had a 4 inch barrle, six shots. Contact me for details

I really like the S&W Model 360PD. I got a chance to shoot one at the range two weekends ago. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...04&isFirearm=Y and I really liked it.

My 1977 S&W Model 60 5 shot Stainless shoots +p, but is only a 38. The new ones shoot 357 also. It really isn't that heavy. I carried it off duty for 27 years and 15 as a BUG in patrol; the latter in my pocket in an Uncle Mike's holster. I think the new models come with a hammer; mine did, but I had it bobbed so it wouldn't catch in my pocket since Uncle Mikes wasn't around when I first began carrying it. I removed the clip from a leather IWB and carried it in my pocket that way. We're talking old school.
You might want to look at one of the new model 60s so you can shoot both rounds; although practicing with a 357 in that small of a gun will probably hurt after a short period I'm guessing. |

S&W 638.... has a shrouded hammer, only enough of it sticks out to get a grip with your thumb, doesnt snag...

I recently picked up a Taurus 605 SS. Wow! It's the same size as the 85 but is 357 instead of 38.
Taurus makes great pistols and backs them up with a lifetime warranty. Check them out.
