G31, XD5in(357cal), or SIG P226R(357cal)

Need to decide which one to get, all the input you can offer will help a great deal.
Usage will be for plinking, self defense, backup for hunting maybe CCW but i already have a G23 for that.
$$$ is not an issue but why pay top dollar for a piece when a cheaper gun can match if not even out performs the pricey ones.
Held all 3 choices and all of em feels great in my hands.
Ideally I should look for a range that rents them out
Accuracy(ofcourse depends on user), reliability, aesthetics(I think Sig wins), bang for the buck.....
Thanks in advance.

for carry i would pick the sig, I like the decocking da/sa.

for a plicking gun, its all how you like the way they feel.

I have an XD-40 but would love a sig. But based on price I didn't see what the sig offered that my XD doesn't (not for that big of a price difference). but a sig will probably be my next gun. (either the 220 or a 1911).Once i get enough money. I did a cowboy shoot out last weekend. Went up against a bunch of sigs, beat them all. Went up against an exquinox, beat him. like you said its all about the shooter not the gun. But personally i think i had the advantage because my trigger pull was the same every time, where they had the DA then SA pull, and when you are drawing and fireing and seconds matter, the SA only will help.

Its a trade off..... sig for carry, xd for almost anything else and cheaper.

let me know what you get....

Like you said, the best bet would be go to the range and rent all of these and shoot them. Then, decide which is best for you. You will probably get limited response for the simple fact that not a lot of people have experience with this particular caliber. I personally like this caliber and have it in the G32, but I cannot give you any advise in the guns you are looking at.

The best thing you can do is try them all if possible. I carry a glock 31 for duty, and I love it, never had a failure in thousands and thousands rounds. That said, any one of the pistols you named will serve you well. Some people don't like the grip angle on the glocks, but I have no problems with it myself.

I too have the 32 and I have the same problem w/ it that I've had with all the other glocks. Due to the grip angle, if I put my finger on the center of the trigger, my middle segment of my trigger finger rubs the frame, and if I move low enough that that doesn't happen, the lower portion of my trigger finger rubs the trigger guard. It does not make for a pleasant afternoon if I decide to only shoot the glock. I like the 357sig round, but for me, I just don't think the glock is the right gun.
