I would like some advice on a revolver.

I am looking to sell my Kel-Tec and purchase a .357Mag revolver.

MUST HAVES
1. Under $350 in price.
2. Barrel Less than 6", more than 2"
3. Exposed Hammer (DA/SA)

WOULD LIKE
1. Fully supported barrel (Bull Barrel)
2. 6 or more shots
3. Adjustable rear sight
4. Not Blued
5.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might fit the bill?

I've had a S&W 686 for a number of years - in my mind it's an excellent choice and one you should consider - if it fits well in your hand.

Look up Taurus and see what you can find. You'll be hard pressed to find a S&W for under 350$, even used for a stainless steel gun.. A new 686 2 1/2" barrel 357/38 will run you over 500. Taurus makes some cheaper alternatives.

Taurus 627 Tracker in Stainless would probably fit the bill.

I think you'd probably be able to find a used Ruger GP-100 4" stainless in your price range that would meet your specifications.

I noticed a couple on Gunbroker in the $300 +/- range. So you might be able to find something locally for about the same price.

They are good solid guns. I've seen quite a few that were police trade-ins that were in real good shape.

Finding a "bull" barrel may be a little tricky......

+1 on the Ruger GP. They're built like tanks.

Smith & Wesson 4" 38 or 357

K or L frame

Models 10, 19, 66, 586 or 686

Forget about everything else, unless you have 800+ dolalrs to spend on a Colt Python. The K-frame Smiths are fantastic shooters. I have two: an early Model 1905 Second Model Hand Ejector (basically a 5" Mod 10) and a mid 70s Model 19 357 - both are great accurate well made shooters that I will never sell.

Price? You can find a nice lightly used Model 19 357 for around 300 bucks. Used Model 10 38s can run you around 250-275 dollars. Also, don't pass up a nice bull barreled Model 10 38 Spl, thinking the 38Spl is a weak round. The 38 Spl is loaded much hotter today and is a very formidable round if you use Cor Bons or other hot 38Spl loads and the Model 10 will handle them with ease.

With light 38Spl target rounds, the Model 10 and 19 are total pussycats and big fun for anyone at the range. They are also very accurate pistols.

Skip the Rugers and Taurus revolvers...Smith makes the best affordable wheelguns, period.

You can definitely find some nice S&W revolvers in that range, you just have to be patient and keep looking.

For example:
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=52889810

Taurus makes some nice guns, but nothing beats the feel of a Smith and Wesson revolver.
