Ruger Service Six
I've been wanting a .357 for some time now, and my brother talked me into going to the gunshow today. Pretty much the only thing that really caught my eye was one guy who had 4 (four!) Ruger Service Sixes. Each one of them was approx. 85% finish. The one I picked up felt like it had a solid lockup. All four tags said $199. Is this fair? I was thinking NIB but I'm not totally against used. I've heard nothing but good things about Ruger revolvers. I have no idea how old they were, they seemed to be in good shape other than wear on the blueing.
So, wheelgun enthusiasts, should I make the trip back out tomorrow to try to catch this guy? I really know nothing about them, other than the very basics to look for when buying a used revolver ("jiggle" in the cylinder, etc) Or maybe wait a little longer and just get a new Taurus? Right now, I could swing $200, but I'd have to wait a while for a new gun price. |

I'd take the used 85% Service Six over a new Taurus any day of the week if it locked up tight.
If the finish really bothers you have it duracoated. Just remember Cash is king at Gunshows. I'd go back with $175 cash in my hand, and another $25 in my wallet if needed and see if he bites.
