Shipwreck, those are sweet! I was thinking about getting a P99 AS in 9mm for carry. How does the grip length compare to that of an XD? IIRC, the P99 was like 3/4" shorter in the grip. I usally carry IWB at 3:00, so a shorter grip than my HS2K would be nice. Also, how would you compare the reliability and accuracy? I heard the SA reset on those is very short and fast. I'd appreciate any info about the P99 compared to the XD, trigger mode differences aside.

Thanks in advance!

I would like to know how you think they compare to the XD. Mainly the triggers! I really like the way they feel in my hand. I think I might even like them better. I am just not sure on the trigger and reliability. Please inform me.

I have the A/S version on my P99s. It is DA/SA, but it also can be set for a long SA, if U wish - so, it is almost like a tripple action. This is the trigger everyone loves on the P99 - the SA trigger on it is so sweet.

They also make a QA trigger - it is similiar to an XD or Glock - the same on every pull - but I think it is too heavy. But, I eventually wanna get one anyway, since I am a P99 fan.

Which size are U referring to? The compact P99 or the fullsize P99 - Both are great sized guns. I only carry the compact - I usually throw it in my front pocket - been doing that 3 months now, so I haven't used a belt holster in a while.

For me, I cannot shoot any other gun as well as the P99 - it just "fits" me. Everyone may have their own fit, but I regret not finding out about this gun years ago...

I personally think it is better than an XD, hands down. But hey, others may disagree.

No reliability issues at all. I even use the aluminum Blazer ammo in it routinely. Accuracy - great. And, I love that the USER can adjust the sights - no gun smith necessary. Screw driver adjusts the rear sight left and right. And, the gun comes w/ 4 different sized front sights - and the user can change those as well. U can also install your own night sights if U want, but I like the stock sights...

I'm interested in the grip length of the full sized P99 compared to the long grip of the full sized XD. I have compared it to an Airsoft P99 that was supposed to be the same exact dimesions as the actual P99, and the grip of the P99 appeared to be about 3/4" shorter. Is that so? Thanks in advance!
