Smith and Wesson M&P
Have any of you shot the new Smith and Wesson M&P .40???
The Smith rep was at my local gun shop today and let me go down to the range and fire his sample gun. I must say I was impressed. I've been getting ready to purchase an XD40 but this really gave me something to think about. The recoil seemed better and it felt really good in my hand. Any one had any experience with this gun???

I have only dy fired and thought it was OK. I then dry fired ther M&P AR-15 and I thought it felt like a tow. After I dry fired the RRA AR-15 I was sold! My next pistol I guess wil have to be a RRA 19111! I know what I am asking for my BD in November.

i have one. i absolutely love the feel of it in my hand. i like the trigger pull. the one thing i don't like is the long trigger reset and that you can't really "feel" the reset like i can with my XD's and Glocks. i'm hoping some gunsmith comes up with a "fix" for this.

Would you say then that you like the XD40 better overall? Which do you shoot more? If you were going to buy one or the other, which would you buy? I truly value other opinions. I'd never really even been aware of the M&P to any extent until today. I do have to say for "curb appeal" I really dig the look of the XD over the M&P. To me it looks more "gunnish" if that makes sense. The M&P shot really well but didn't give me the "must have" jones that the XD40 and XD45 did.
