Kimber Pro BP Ten II
Anyone try one of these? I think they are a great secret among polymer guns. Or, specifically 1911 style guns. Kimber hardly advertises them. I used to own one, and it was a little problematic with feeding issues - probably the magazines. I want to get another one though, because I think if I could get the problems worked out, it would be an awesome pistol. Especially now that Kimber has gone back to internal extractors. Great ergonomics, very solidly built, and excellent accuracy. Even more accurate than my Kimber Eclipse Target. I miss that crisp single actions trigger too.
Anyone else have one?

I don't own one, but almost did, i was going back and forth between one of those and the XD .45acp. I went with the XD because it was more comfortable and I like the trigger better, but the Kimber was nice. THe grip is huge but it wasn't too uncomfortable.

Well, I have big hands so the grip fits me nicely. In fact I index much quicker than with the XD. The XD grip is nice, but around the thumb rest its almost too thin, since it slide around in my hand a little too easy. I wish the grip safety was bigger too. The Kimber is slightly rectangular, and fits my hand nice. Its a little thicker, due to the lack of the thumb rest recesses, but only on that part of the grip. Plus, it makes it easier for me to point it the same every time. That and the great checkering. The overall thickness of the Kimber is less. The upper is a regular 1911, so that's thin, the slide is rounded, and the dust cover is rounded and smaller becuase there is no rail. I like it. Just my $.02. The XD is still my 'go to. gun when the SHTF

I looked at the Kimber and the Wison Combat KZ45. Ended up just buying another XD. I did like the feel of the Wilson over the Kimber. Wilson is also offering the KZ in a 17rd 9mm this year. I may revisit this one.

Yeah. That's a good looking pistol. Wish it came in a commander size, although I probably wouldn't spend $1300 for a polymer gun anyway.

The KZ45 Compact is a 4" barrel. Local retail was a couple hundred less than listed on the web site when I was looking. Even so, my thoughts were the same as yours about the price.
