What compares to a G19?
I have an XD45 that I love. I had to sell my .40 w/ 9mm cionversion to get it. I always shot it well as a 9mm, but not a 40. I am no in need of a replacement something in 9mm. I am looking for something smaller than the XD service, but also thinner than a XDSC, best along the lines of a G19. I love everything about it, except for the blockyness and the darn grip angle. Like DAO, like the cap og the G19, just needs to be slimmer than the XD for me to wear it regularly. The only thing I have found that really meets the criteria I'm looking for is the Taurus Milpro PT-111

You could always give the G-19 a shot, but Kahr is just about as close as you can get to Glock in function and its slimmer.

Browning 'Detective' HiPower, Star Firestar Plus, Astra A100, Daewoo DP51 and DP51C, FEG P9RK, Witness/Tanfoglio Compact Polymer, and such....
All the G19 is, is a 'compact'-or 'intermediate' sized pistol. All because of the 'sub compact' offerings like the G26, and XDSC are the smallest versions of the same guns...

When I was shopping for a 9mm, I looked very closely at the G19 but have generally shyed away from Glocks because of lack of safety or decocker. I did, however, end up with a Walther P99c, which is the compact version of their P99. It has no safety, but it does have decocker, so its not DAO. They do have a QA trigger version which may suit your personal taste better (I have the AS trigger, which is DA/SA). It is a supremely well made gun (made in Germany, imported into the US by S&W). I have been carrying it of and on for the last couple of weeks, and clothes permitting it takes the place of my Bersa 380CC from time to time. The fit and finish of the P99c is very similar to that of my H&K, to say it is top notch. It has replacable backstraps on the grip to suit your hand. Take a peek at it to see what you think.

If you really like the size of the glock 19 but can't stand the grip angle, check out either Robar or Bowie tactical. Either place can change the grip angle to something a little more like the 1911.
None of my glocks have this treatment (never had a problem adapting myself), but a friend of mine has a G23 that was worked over at Bowie tac and it feels great, enough so that it even has me thinking about getting it done. Dammit, something else for the wish list.
