Thinking of Getting a 1911

Hello everyone I just needed a little help choosing a 1911. I was thinking about either a Springfield or a Kimber but I am open to any other suggestions you might have. I look forward to your suggestions and please feel free to give me as much info as you can. Thanks in advance!

I like my Kimber. It hasn't given me any problems at all. Mine has the internal extractor though. I have the Eclipse model, the ORIGIONAL black stainless.

Both SA and Kimber make very good 1911's
I don't think you'll be disappointed with either.

Having said that, I think that the best bang for the buck is hands down:

Springfield LOADED!

I have a Kimber G/R a S/A loaded and a S/A TRP. Do the TRP. The 06s are crazy nice. The fit and finish is leaps and bounds ahead of the loaded. You will be glad you did. Since I have bought nicer 1911s after I got the loaded I don't even shoot it anymore. So I have decided to send it ti S/A to make it a Pro. I have been drooling over them for too long now.

You can't beat Springfield for what you get for the $. For less than a grand you can get a fully loaded 1911A1, in SS if you'd like! I love my 500 dollar Springfield 1911 GI. It shoots just as well as the higher priced 1911s. Although I hear Kimber is good too, but I have heard more complaints about Kimber than I have with Springfield. Anyway, congrats on considering a 1911, and post pics when you do get one.

Try the Kimber grand rapter. Guy I work with has one and it is one sweet shooter.

Damn it, something else for the wish list.

What did they charge you to do that?
