CCW for my wife
Currently neither my wife or me carry. We are looking at getting her a CC weapon when she turns 21.(January) I was looking at a PPK varient, ei Bersa .380 or the Sig .380. Also was looking at the Kahr Pm9. I have never shot a Kahr and was wondering what you guys thought. She is a great shot and not really recoil sensative.

Do you have a local gun range that has rentals? My advice would be to take her to the range and let her try a wide variety of smaller-framed carry guns, ranging from J-frame revolver, to a .380 variant like the Sig 232, to a Subcompact XD or Glock in .40 or 9mm. The most important thing is that she is comfortable shooting and carrying it. If she's not comfortable with either, then she will be much less likely to carry it and practice with it. It also lets the choice be more of her decision, and she'll like that. Good luck with the search!

I have a PM9 and it's a good little gun. It's small and very lightweight for a 9mm. They have a long DAO trigger pull to them whereas the PPK variants have the DA/SA triggers. Get her to shoot some guns at the range, if they rent them, and let her decide which is right for her. You might want to consider the Kel-Tek single stack 9mm that's supposedly coming out this fall as well. It's supposed to be smaller than the Kahr.

Make sure she's the one making the decision, or she won't shoot or carry it.

She is a great shot, and loves to shoot. She hasnt been in a little while, since my son was born(about 2 Months) Shes all about being protected and She loves my xd40. The sc would be great, but its too thick for her liking. I think she'll like the PM9. She has shot the .380 and dosnt like how the trigger feels different 1 shot to the next. Plus she wants at least a 9mm maby even the PM40 is what shell get. Thanks

+1 on the rentals
My lady settled for the Taurus 85 Ti-lite .38 spl. She shoots well with it. I'm on my best behavior.

My PM9 is my primary carry gun.
It's small and flat enough to fit into the back pocket of a pair of jeans. When I'm at work, though, I carry a P3AT. That sucker doesn't even bulge in the front pocket of a pair of Dockers.....

i have a bersa thunder .380. They have a new "CC" version with smoother edges, no mag extension. i'm very interested in trying one out...
anyways, i love my bersa. very accurate, shoots anything i put through it. highly recommend the gun. but, i recommend shooting it prior to buying, too. |

If your wife is not recoil sensitive, I would go with a Kahr.
