New 870, have a question...

First of all, I want to thank everyone on this board. I know its not a shotgun forum but I got a lot of good info that helped me choose between a mossberg 500/590 and the 870. I like both, but I chose the 870 18.5" 7-shot Home Defense model. I chose it over the 500 combo because of capacity and over the 590 because of length and price (I wanted a 18 in not a 20in). I love it, I am sure I would have been happy with either one, but i got a decent deal. So thanks to all that have posted about tactical shotguns recently!

That being said.....I need a little help

I want to get a sling for it but am a little confused on exactly what sling hardware i need. Because it has a mag extention I can't use the end cap sling swivel. I have a clamp that holds the extention to the barrel, it looks like there is a place for a swivel like piece to set in there, does anyone know where to buy it online. I went down to my local shop but they don't have any. I was looking for a swivel piece to fit the barrel clamp and a screw to put into the stock. I looked at a couple websites but there are so many model numbers and whatnot, i am confused as hell. Without being able to physically see them I am at a loss.

I am planning on buying a couple other things from cheaperthandirt.com, so if i can find it on their site i won't have to pay shipping or tax, does anyone know what i am talking about (hell i already confused myself). I ll try to post a picture later tonight.

okay i think i found a picture of what i am talking about.

I have the clamp but not the swivel or the other sling accessories, does anyone know what i need then.

I hope i don't sound like too much of any idiot here.....

its hard to understand what you are talking about. first of all, you need to tell us what kind of sling you want: 1 point, 2 point, or 3 point. then we need to know what mounts you need: barrel mount(on the barrel), sling plate(on the stock), or swivel mount(on the stock).

is this what your looking for?

sorry I guess I should have been more clear.

Right now i am looking for a simple two point sling, so i can use it for my 30-06 hunting rifle and my shotgun, my rifle already has swivels (one fore, one aft). On the shotgun, I want to put a swivel on the stock and one up on the fore end of the shotgun. my problem is that I already have a barrel clamp like the one in the picture (top picture), but without the swivel on the bottom. my question is where can i get a swivel that will fit in the bottom of the clamp I already have. I prefer it to attach to the botton and not the side of the clamp. I will post pictures of my clamp later tonight.

Am i making any more sense? I know i am being confusing, its hard to explain without pictures.

yes you are clear now. i think you will have to buy a whole new clamp to solve your problem.
