Lasermax on Sig P229 (with pics!)

Since they don't make a Lasermax for my XD-45ACP yet, I picked up one for my Sig P229 9mm (aka - "The Plinker").

Initial feelings - AWESOME! I love this little thing. Point of aim is *excellent* and is right on with my sights. They actually installed this thing in a gun and test fired 5 rounds (per the included documentation), to align it properly. The laser is extremely bright and pulses, making it very easy to pick up. My only beef is the right side of the button is a little tight, after working it for a minute or two its already loosening up great. It's also in perfect reaching distance of my weak hand thumb when my thumbs are stacked, so its *easily* reached from either side of the weapon. Had 1,000 rounds of Blazer 9mm and 1,000 rounds of 45ACP show up in the mail today along with this thing, so it should be a fun day at the range tomorrow!

The box

What's in the box

Two springs (9mm and 357sig/40sw, laser, washer, take down lever and instructions)

Button on take down lever from right side

Gun from left side (notice button on take down lever)

Laser from the front of the gun

Take down lever from left side

Another shot from left (I swear it's not this dirty in real life )

What it looks like when holding it

Honestly, the point of aim looks perfect, but we'll see tomorrow morning at the range. I'll update this thread with some results from shooting tomorrow, and let you guys know what I think.

Oh, just FYI - don't expect to see the laser 15 yards out at an outdoor range in the middle of the day In the evening, once the sun's behind some obstruction, the laser will go farther than you can see.

Overall, very nice laser sight. I figure since 90%+ of the instances of gun use occur in the evening or night it should be very useful. Although, hopefully not

Does that LaserMax use standard recoil springs?

Looks impresive!!! Please let us know how it goes, I am very interested in seeing a range report with your laser max on that sig. I;ve been looking at the Equinox "sig" for a while now, and I can get a pretty sweet deal on a NIB. So please post your findings.

No it uses a lasermax spring and can not be switched out with other spring rates-it is replaceable but you have to get another lasermax spring. I find mine in my xd is a lil stiffer then factory but not as stiff as a 22# spring thats for sure.
