CZ's: P-01 or RAMI .40? - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

CZ's fit my hand better than anything.
I'd get a 75b, but my XD40 fills that niche in the vault.
So, I'll probably go CZ for the compact .40 (I know- blasphemy not to go XD-3", but I like variety.. for now).

Has anyone here done any side-by-side on the CZ P-01 and the RAMI in .40?

If you have to have a rail,well..I bought a pcr and it has become my favorite pistol.Much more accurate than it has any right to be.I haven't shot the rami,the 01 is basically the same as the pcr with the rail.If you don't have to have the rail,I'd take the pcr.ymmv...whoops missed the fact you were wanting a 40.Go with 01

If you get the CZ RAMI .40 you are taking a gamble in my opinion. I was looking into getting one before I bought the XD sc .40, because of a major FTF problem and I haven't looked back since. Now don't get me wrong, CZs are great and all but the RAMI .40 are reliable as far as I know. Go to this website, a world of knowledge their on the RAMI.

If you can get CZ P-01 for 279, thats the most rediculously low price I've ever seen.

I bought mine just a year and a half ago and it cost me 420 or something. As far as a side to side comparison, give me a day or so and I'll post a picture of my P-01 with respect to the XD-9 to give you a feel for its size. Its somewhat smaller than my XD-9, but not by that much.

I think the PCR is slightly more than different from the P-01 other than just the rail. I don't know for sure, but the P-01 I have has an alloy frame and I was under the assumption that the PCR is not. This makes the P-01 as light as a XD-9. When I hold both of mine I literally cannot tell which one is heavier, even though the P-01 is completely metal. I always thought though that the P-01 being newer was the only CZ pistol at the time with the aluminum alloy frame.

This does two things to the gun though, first it makes it better for carry since its lighter and on the negative side it adds to the recoil that CZ's in general do not have much of being that they are mostly heavy steel guns. That being said, the P-01 generally falls into a different category as far as recoil is concerned compared to any other CZ.

Budsgunshop.com had CZ P-01's until this afternoon for $279, no longer on the site.
Maybe they ran out of stock.
Their site has a feature where they email you when they come back.
If you want one, call, they might have more anyway. Good shop.
Regrettably, the CZ P-01 in .40 is not on 'the CA DOJ list' so I couldn't get one anyway (ok as 9mm).
Well, I made a change anyway....
more blasphemy coming...
I got a Bersa Thunder 380.
Will post range reports when ready.

Goto the cz forum under the rami club.I was easily convinced not to get that gun after reading a few threads.It is a sweet looking little gun though.

I didn't even know that the CZ P-01 came in .40. I always thought it was restricted to 9mm.

I'm confused, why is it that the .40 sells for so cheap but the CZ P-01 9mm sells for 420 there. Crazy.
