Has anyone seen these cell phone guns.
http://www.cellular.co.za/phones/gunphone/gun-phone.htm
Anyone know if these would be illegal if you have your CCW. It was only a matter of time. I have seen pen guns and other concealed guns. Anyway I thought this was interesting. Sorry if this is a repost, I looked and did not see anything.

I've only seen the video, not the real "gun" in person.
Snopes says it's true (I guess as a possibility). But what I don't get is when you watch the video, the barrel is obviously fixed as the antenna, yet they show 4 distinct rounds across the width of the phone. Then they show the gun/phone being fired, and show the casings still in the gun at the end of the video. HOW do the other 3 rounds get over to the barrel? They all seemed in a fixed (non-movable)state to me. I don't think the phone has a revolving cylinder. So WTF?? As far as having a permit to carry and using something like this, I don't know if these would be legal. Probably NOT, since they are more apt to be considered a terrorist's hidden weapon than an every day "normal" gun for a CCW. I'll stick w/ my REAL XD, not a phone gun "toy." Besides, it's a .22 caliber. I'd want something a little bigger than that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe guns like these are illegal unless you apply for one with the ATF and pay for a tax stamp....something similar to what you have to go through in order to legally own a silencer.

i just watched the video, that is pretty crazy, its seems pretty dangerous as well. Seems like it would be too easy to reach in your pocket and accidentally press one of the buttons

Ya I would not use one as a CCW gun but I was just wondering, if it would be allowed.
jalley you are probably right about that one. I think one barrel is in the antenna but I think it is just like 4 pen guns side by side. If you watch the video you can see the smoke move right as each bullet is fired.

During my recurrent training (I'm a pilot- air ambulance) they have us do long, drawn out, pain in the boo-tay, and BORING AS HELL computer training. One of the sections we always have to review is TSA stuff, including all sorts of weird weapons that have been discovered. One of those shown was the cell phone gun (I think it was the exact one shown here). There was some other stuff out there that blew my mind. Kinda makes you think a little bit.

I think that product along with the video looks like a joke. I can't think of any way that the thing could work the way they show it....

It does. It's real. I remember seeing it in some FBI weapons screening pdf about a year or two ago. Also a story about them on the news.

Cell phone gun?
It seems faked to me. The shells do not index with the antenna to fire. Looked like blanks. The only bullet I know of that could do a 'Z' after being fired is the Carcano that killed Kennedy, (supposedly... we'll never know...) then hit Gov. Connely in the leg and fell out on his gurney. The first firing that is indexed with the antenna/barrel might be true, 2 thru 4 would have to make a turn, right after being fired to go to the barrel. Don't think technology is up to that yet. Now if it had shown each with it's own barrel, blowing off a thin piece of plastic on top of the gun when fired, I would believe that. I don't believe all 4 are fired thru the fake antenna/barrel. I do know there are some strange devices made into firearms out there in the 'spook' world. I belonged to it in my younger years. However, they were all single shot, throwaway, one time use weapons. This is mocked up to look like a reloadable, keepable, multi-shot weapon. Have to see it to believe it.
Sorry, to answer the initial question, like the 'pen gun' it would be looked at by the BATFE and then decided if it could be sold. Probably not, due to the recient terrorist problems, and probably not for the safety reasons stated in the above post. My guess would be no.
