I think the XD, being it has the grip safety, wouldn't have fired in these particular instances.

ouch......yah i doubt an xd would have discharged, UNLESS, while removing the holster the person grasped the firearm by the grip and pulled up in which case it probably would have.

Exactly why you need a grip safety. I love the XD!

This was the very reason I began looking at the XD line of pistols.... I took a look at XDs awhile back & thought to myself "cheap copy of a glock"....

I didnt want to like XDs back then due to the fact that I had been sipping on some glock KoolAid... But the lack of external safeties bothered me when CCWing...

So I started looking at XDs again because I really liked the idea of the grip safety.... I never bought one, just learned about the weapon platform.

Then XD came out in .45acp!!!!

I went to the gunstore & held one ( I have small hands & couldnt find a hicap 45acp that fit my hands.... Well, the 45acp XD fit me just fine... I started to get really excited about the gun... Then I shot one at a rental range.... Couldnt believe ho0w nice it shot for me.....

Now I am selling the last glock I have to fund an XD purchase (either that or a Saiga12, whichever I come across first once I sell the glock & have the money to spend).... And the reason I ever gave em consideration in the first place????

......It was the grip safety.
