new yugo
Just purchased a yugo SKS from a local forum member "FTF".
Seems to be in nice shape. Rifling looks good from what I could tell (man I need a bore light). Its the cleanest milsurp I've purchased. I'm sure I'll still give it a good scrub before it goes to the range. Probably not until next weekend.

Can't wait to give it a test drive. Moneys a little tight so I'll probably wait and go next weekend.
Luckily my dad has some x39 that I can buy off him.

Man I love SKSs. I haven't gotten it to the range but finally cleaned it. I can tear the entire thing down to the major parts and bare stock inside 5 minutes on the first try.
Found a little more tiny rust spots etc but the bore etc looks great yet so I'm not to worried about it. Gave it a basic cleaning and I'll probably do that a few times after the next few times it goes out to get it into shape.

Take special care of the firing pin and the channel it rides in. You could take it apart and clean it thoroughly, but I just sprayed gun scrubber in there until all the gunk ran out. The first time out with my Yugo some crud built up in there and I had my 59/66 do a "double take" (if you know what I mean).
