Steyr M9?

I've read a couple of reviews (one by Ayoob-love that guy) that got my mouth watering for one of these, since my XD45's a little big for every day CC...

Who's got one, whatcha think? They are available locally, but they seem to marked up around here with prices in the 520-580 range...

They are good and reliable, sights are real nice once you get acclimated to them. They sell for like $350 - $400 new at my local shop. I like the one that my friend has, it shoots real nice. They are built nice and are worth the $350 to $400 but no more than that.

I like them and was just looking at them again yesterday. Unfortunately, around here they are going for $500.00. I can get a XD-45 ACP for $489.00, so I won't be getting the Steyr. I would definitely grab one for $300-$400 if I could find one though.

I looked into the high-prices at my local shop-turns out the more expensive pistols are the new M9A1 and M4A1 versions, with various updates and tweeks here and there. Most of the 300 dollar guns are the slightly older, now discontinued M9 and M40s...After looking at one up close, I'm inclined to think they're worth the 500$ asking price. The one I handled felt very solid and seemed to be really well made...definitely comparable to the HK pistols they shared the display case with(I was also groping a P2000LEM-very cool). I'm still tempted...

MA1......

I have the Steyr M40A1 and it is a nice piece. The bore is a bit lower than the XD 40 and the sights make fast target acquisition quite easy. The felt recoil and muzzle flip is reduced. If you can conceal a XD40 you can definitely conceal a Steyr M9A1 or M40A1.....
