As look as you can cycle that pump and it fires, you can't go wrong with an 870. Get them to work on the price and you are set.

Note:
If it's a Wingmaster with the nicer wood and bluing, instead of the express with the dull wood and parkerizing, then $220 is MORE than fair. The Wingmaster is the same as the Express, just a nicer grade. The Wingmaster runs around $500, the Express aroung $250-300.

Buy a Saiga 12 and convert it................
![]() ![]() Sorry, I couldn't resist... Don't count out scatter gun technology either for repair, customizing and possibly sales......

I'd say for that price skip it. You can buy a new 870 with the stock set you want for the same as that used one and the additional cost of the stock set. I just picked up an 870 with 18" barrel, mag extension, and front and rear pistol grips for $350 new a couple weeks ago. I'd say keep looking or go in and tell them you have X dollars cash deal or no deal.

Could someone PLEASE explain to me what possible reason there is to put a pistol grip on an 870?
It's plenty short enough with the 18" barrel and you're not going to hit squat without aiming it.

Oh, that and I want the recoil reducing function of that stock too.. also mainly for the benefit of my gf. So, that is a reason or two or three why a person would want a pistol grip. And don't say a person can't hit something without aiming. Have you watched that beretta shotgun video posted on here somewhere? Several times I saw the guy shoot without bringing the gun to his shoulder, and hitting blue rock several times in a row. |

I can see getting the Knoxx Compstock, that makes sense.
But why would you put a straight pistol grip on it? You're NOT going to hit a damn thing, shooting from the hip, and you can't aim well at all with it.

i don't know... i'm looking to get one. w/ just the pistol grip, it'd fit just behind the headboard of my bed... i'd probably rest the pistol grip on the top of the bed frame at night. my primary concern would be home defense and i'm pretty confident i could bring it to bear on a BG at less than 5 yards. that's all i need it for. I definitely want to get another grip for range work, etc... if i hear something downstairs in the house, i'll probably be grabbing the XD w/ night sights.

I don't want one with a straight pistol grip. Just one that has the pistol grip along with the shoulder stock. Other than the cop-stock folder that Knoxx makes, I don't think I'd want a pistol grip only. But, you could hit something by using just pistol grip. It has it's uses in close quarters. Have you watched the video on Knoxx's website with them shooting one handed with a pistol grip? Their's reduce recoil a lot, enough to allow one handed shooting.
