Sigmas are good basic SD guns they go bang every time and so on, I'd personally just get a used XD or Glock for a few bucks more.

I had one ran about 1k rds though it without a hitch last summer, it was a good gun but I got an XD to replace it which was replaced by an XD9 which was replaced by an M&P9 which was replaced by an M&P45 which was replaced by a Kimber 1911.

I'd rather have a Sigma than 2 HiPoints...

I know people with them. Yes, the trigger leaves quite a bit to be desired. Reliability-wise, though, I've never seen them have a problem.

For $200, I'd buy it, for a car gun if nothing else.

But but but... You could dual wield the HiPoints!!!

If you want a $200 pistol, you'll get your money's worth here.

I would buy one. Sure they are not 'as good as a XD or Glock' but they are still pretty good pistols. My friend has one and it works every time you pull the trigger, no complaints. I would carry one with confidence.

You cant find a HiPoint for less than $150 right now. I would say you have found a pretty good deal.
get a cz82 if you want a good $200 gun. CZ-82 Czech 9x18 Makarov Military pistol, Very Good condition, one mag. C&R.

that or keep an eye peeled for a random dude on a local board needing to sell a gun to pay bills. You might get a used SW wheel gun for $200, a ruger LCP used, ruger wheel gun.

I would never reference a highpoint as a measure of merit to compare another gun if you have decent expectations.

I had a Sigma 9mm and kept it for about 2 weeks.

I had bought it for self-defense and used it for my handgun safety course required for my carry permit. The trigger pull was just horrible for me and even my instructor commented on how stiff the trigger was.

So, I took it back to the shop where I bought it and traded it in on a Glock 26 and never looked back.
