Mine is the "new" one without a slide tube. I hate it, a cant change it w/o buying a slide tube assembly

Define good. In lumens? Or do you just mean a nice stout light. If thats all you want get a LED 3 or 4 D-cell maglite and you have a back up skull smasher/spliter.

Define inexpensive.

Many fenix lights are good and put out 65-85 lumens for $65 or there abouts.
Check la police gear for some close out blackhawks that look like sure fire, retail in around $150, and some are priced in the 60-70 buck range.

Modern Ithaca's now have a trigger disconect....I would think Mossy's do too.
