.22 scope time...

Alright, I done gone and did it... I'm giving up on the $6 Wal Mart Daisy special 4x 15mm scope on my Marlin. Time for something better... OK. I am looking for a CHEAP (this is my plinker, not like an uber important surgical-precise piece here) GREEN/red (BOTH) dot, possibly magnifying. Anyone have any suggestions? The reason behind the green is the wife has issues with red dots in auras before seizures, so I think it might be a good idea to be able to switch between the 2 if possible. I found a Leapers for $40 on Midway...

Walmart - Center Point scopes.
Can't beat them for the price, Red/Green IR... there's a few models, one of them has a set of rings for 22 rails.

I have been using one on my AR that cost $70 (the most expensive one! lol) that the wife bought me thinking she was "helping" surprisingly, it is still perfect and zero'd after a few thousand rounds.

BSA's site says $99 MSRP, but they are regularly $40 at Big 5. If you live in range of one, I would definitely check them out. I got one on sale for $25 at Big 5.

I got one of the $40 BSA 4-9x scopes for my 572. Works quite well at 100 yards and seems to hold its zero pretty well.

this topic comes up occasionally and i always recommend the center points from walmart. i bought 2 so far for 2 different marlin 22's. i got the ar-22 model.

i think its this one..
http://www.crosman.com/optics/ar22/CP392RG.
the scope is nice and works great, fantastic for the $. comes with flip up caps and a neoprene cover, ALSO comes with rings. ive been looking at the higher powered centerpoints, id have no hesitation in buying another one.

the light up reticle sounds gimmicky and dumb but it is very nice, great for low light shooting and glows in red and green.

I'll have to see, but that MAY (I stress MAY) be a go. A nice scope would be second to the tacticoolness of a red/green dot.

ETA: Sucks, I am not in range of any Big 5s. I've known about them for a few weeks, and now wish there was one near me...

I don't mean to step on Shay's shoes, but IMO a red dot is way more fun than a scope in the open. I don't do any range shooting any more so my scoped guns see no action. Last Sunday at the desert I brought this 10/22:

And this Neos:

We literally put 10 rounds through the 10/22 And we had 6 people shooting with us!

The Neos got around 400 rounds through it. All because of the red dot. But if it's range shooting you do then the scope may be the the way to go.

I usually do out to about 100 yards or so. That's as far as I would ever go with a .22. For further than that, I have something that launches 7.62x54r...
