Congrats Bluto,
I knew we could nudge you towards the Bersa. I've got the model with "gold plating" on trigger, hammer etc. - the pimp. It was cheaper than the stock black one.

One thing to note if you haven't picked it up on the bersatalk forum, the recoil spring is NOT symmetrical. One end is slightly smaller than the other, the small end goes towards the breach, the larger end to the muzzle. I also found (again by someone else on Bersatalk) that when putting the spring on, have the tip/end of the spring (large end) pointed up towards the sight. This makes it a little easier to re-assemble after a field strip.

I bought extra factory mags and a rubber grip from:

Your one-stop shop for all things Bersa and Firestorm

The rubber grip helps a little to take the sting out of the recoil.
If you replace grips, DO NOT pull the trigger while the grips are off the gun. Springs will fly.

The only thing bad about the gun is trying to find ammo.

I'm sure you will enjoy the Thunder 380. I have been quite pleased with my duotone. I really prefer the DA/SA trigger over all others. I'm sure you researched Bersatalk but just in case you missed it, they say to avoid Hoppes No.9 for the nickel finish models. I don't have any first hand experience with that, just what I have read.

I assume that if Hoppes #9 contains ammonia, yes, keep it away from nickle plated items.

And if Hoppes #9 does harm then steer way clear of Sweet's 7.62.

I can tell you that Gun Scrubber didn't treat the gold finish on my 380 very nicely.

I have a duotone (actually it is my wife's) and it is a really nice handgun. It has around 350 rounds through it. We had a few FTFs when it was new, but have had no problems after about 100 rounds. For CC I use a Galco pocket holster.

Thank you guys for your input. Yes I have been doing some lurking over at Bersa Talk. From listening to members here and other forums I can't really say I've heard allot of bad things about the Thunder .380. The Pro's that I've heard far outway the negatives. Like anything mechanical there are going to be a couple lemons slip through but I haven't heard of many.
When you hear so many pro's about something you start to take notice just like the Torture test did in convinceing me that the XD9sc would be a gun that I would own. I love that gun.
Well after doing some homework and doing allot of listening on the Bersa Thunder .380 I came across these two reviews, and they really got the wheels in motion up in the old noggin that said, hey dummy maybe you should be buying one if you really want another option for CC at a affordable price. I haven't shot it yet but I have to tell you so far I really like this pistol. I'm not a computer guy(truth is I know how to turn it on) but I will see if I can get a couple pic's up on the net. So far I haven't been able to get them up but I'm trying.

If you continue to run into pic problems Bluto, email them to me and I'll put them up for you.

They were the size of South Dakota, so I had to shrink them a bit!
