I got a Ruger - XDTalk Forums

I finally found what I wanted I bought a like new Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag stainless with a simmons 4x32 scope for $700 from Gander Mtn I am going to go shoot it tomarrow what should I expect from this beast of a gun?

Hold on tight and keep your elbows straight like DevJames said or you'll be peeling your eyebrows off your scope. If defensive-type cartirdges are all you are used to shooting, you'll think it kicks horribly. Once you get the technique down, you won't think its all that bad.

nah, I can shoot a 4" M29 with 240's all day long.

my Super Blackhawk however isn't as pleasant...the SAA grip design doesn't bode well with the heavy bucking rounds.

I still wanna shoot a .500 Linebaugh conversion.

I bout some hornaday lever revolution ammo 225grn bullet what a good round for hunting whitetail?

eh, any decent hollowpoint would be ok for white tail. They're pretty soft.

this thing is a beast I am cleaning it ata the table now can't wait to shoot it tomarrow it weighs like 10 pounds if I run out of bullets I can throw it at the deer
