Beretta 85F

Is anyone familiar with this pistol? I saw a used one at the gun store today and it felt really good. I read online that it is quite accurate.

I also looked at a Browning Hi Power that they had - used, still had original box and manual - which I have been looking at for a while.

They wanted I think $575 for the Beretta and $675 for the Hi Power. Do you think if I offered $1,000 for both that would be a reasonable price?

From what I've read, the Beretta 85 is not as nice as the 84 which it replaced.
The BHP is a legendary pistol, feels like it was made for whoever picks one up.
The trigger can be improved by removing the mag safety, but will never equal a tuned 1911 trigger. If it's got the ring type "commander" hammer, people with large hands will get bitten. I think they're too heavy for a 9mm,(sorry Mr. Camp) but the slim design make them easy to conceal.

The tiny safeties on even some later models are a pita.
SoCal prices might warrant a grand for both of them.

hi powers are neat guns, if it has to be one or the other that would be the leader for me especially if its a home defense or plinker.

Can you even get CCW in your neck of the woods etta?

if not that makes other 9mm that might be better carry guns a moot point since i dont think you can get a CCW.

I cannot get a CCW here. I would have to show good cause that I was working in a dangerous profession or had been threatened with bodily harm or something like that.

The 85F would be a good CCW, I would think.
