Sig SP2022 question!
I've been looking around at buying another pistol. I love my XD and am not looking to replace it, but rather further my little collection. What do you guys know about a Sig SP2022 40cal?? A shop here has them on sale for 499.97. Is that a good price? Doesn't this model normally go for around 700.00?? If that's a steal I'm on it first thing in the am! Just looking for you more experienced guys input. Thanks - Cam

I have no experience with the Sig polymer pistols. IF they are anything like the aluminum frame brothers then they are excellent pistols.

Haven't got to shoot one, but there seem to be very many happy owners. Check on the Sig Forum.
Top Gun Supply has them on sale. Sig Sauer SIGPRO 2022 9mm, Fixed Sights, DA/SA - Top Gun Supply

The SP2022 is the second generation of Sig's first real attempt at a polymer pistol. There are some minor differences between the metal framed and polymer pistol so if you are a well versed Sig person you will have some retraining to do. If you get one make sure you get plenty of mags in case this model does end up going the way of the dodo over the next few years now that Sigs second generation polymers are out i.e. the P250. I have shot the earlier editions of the Sig Pros and liked it. Great pistol I just prefer the metal framed guns from Sig and when it comes to Tupperware guns I like my XDs.

You are correct. The 2022 will be discontinued for civilian sale due to Sig's new red headed step child the P250 . Sig still has military and LEO contracts for the pistol through the year 2022 (hence the name). Parts should not be a problem for a while for this reason. I have however begun to stockpile mags though. If you look, you can find them for about $20.00. Many places will charge a premium as they are Sig mags. Some are charging in excess of $30 or more. Sig has reported they will release more (pistols) here and there. Probably in the form of dept. overruns etc.
This is probably Sig's most underrated pistol. Sadly, they are just now becoming popular at the end of its production life (for civilians).

Yes, the Irony is that the trigger on the 2022 is better than the one on the all metal P226. Go figure.

How is the 2022 compared to the P250?
I held a P250 in a gun shop and really liked the trigger.

There is a gunstore near me that is selling brand spanking new Sig Pro 2022s in 9mm for 525 bucks. These are not CPOs, but brand new guns that come with 3 hi-cap mags and night sights with factory warranty in the blue SIG hard case.
Good deal?
I see them from certain online distributors for around 460-475...add in shipping and dealer transfer costs and I am easily at 525 with these offerings. Many sold by online sources don't have night sights or come with 3 mags.
Again....a very tempting offer!
