Taurus revolver review...
Just took a brand new Taurus 94 .22lr 9 shot revolver out for it's first shooting. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. How hard is it to make a revolver that is reliable enough to pull the trigger? I don't think Taurus knows the answer because this thing was impossible to fire 9 rounds in a row. It would just lock up. The trigger would not move and neither was I able to pull the hammer back. This was every 5 or 6 rounds. I thought maybe it needed time to break in so I struggled thru shooting about 200 rounds. It just became progressively worse as time went by. If this is the quality of a Taurus, then they can keep it. Mine is going back.

It sounds like the timing is off.
I had the same issue with a S&W 357 ... It was worth fixing .... New gun ... Take it back!!

Is that Taurus locking system working its way into an engaged state? Or do you think it's just bad tolerance?

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have a Taurus Tracker 627SS in .357 that has functioned flawlessly for over five years now.

I'm going to send it in for repair. I really like the idea of a .22 revolver and there aren't too many out there that are inexpensive. I guess the old adage is true. Hopefully they can fix it to my liking.
on edit- the XD9 sub has around 800 trouble free rounds thru her. Absolutely perfect and getting better every time. Seems like the trigger has either lightened up or I'm just getting used to it.

My grandpa recently bought a Taurus Judge, and it's having a similar problem. I'm not really sure what to do with it, either.

I have the same gun, and it basically crapped itself and the transfer bar stopped working completely after about 10-17k rounds. As soon as I can spare the $50 to AIRMAIL it to Florida, I'll have warranty work done on it. Aside from the somewhat heavy doube-action trigger pull, it is one of the most fantastic guns that I have ever owned. Give it a chance, they truly can be excellent when they work.
