I've seen Glocks inadvertantly come apart before, but in every case I've seen (naturally I haven't seen all of them) the cause was improper reassembly of the frame/receiver after the user had detail stripped it. (A careful examination of the frame showed that the slide lock had been inserted backwards.) I don't have any idea if this was actually the case here, but that would be my first guess.

I kinda suspected something like this, but I am not familiar with Glocks enough to know. I do know this was at the end of stage 4 of 5 where we had already sent around 100 rounds downrange for the day--don't know how long it would take for such a problem to show up.

Agreed. Where i used to shoot I'd see by far more failures with glocks and 1911s (especially 1911s) than any other platform and we had a very diverse range of firearms: several XD's, berettas, sigs, CZ, etc with the majority being glocks, XD's, and S/W M&Ps. 1911's and Glocks did not outnumber any other certain brand.... they just erred a lot more.
