I have a birthday coming up next month and I am looking to get a new firearm. I am really up for just about anything but I am particuarly interested in either a pistol or carbine. My only problem is that I have to get one for under $350. I will be using it for target shooting the shooting distance will depend on the firearm itself. If anyone has any suggestion on what to get I would greatly appreciate it.

Guns In The Pricerange
1. Kel-tec Sub 2000 .40
2. Ruger LCP .380
3. Charter Arms Bulldog
4. Saiga .223
5. Bersa .380 " I cannot Find This One In Stock In my Area"

6. Taurus Revolver .17

I have a suggestion , if you dont mind me telling , how about the Stoeger Cougar in either .40S&W or 9mm ? I have 2 in 9mm and LOVE IT! Brand new they are around $329-349 and are the best bang for the buck for the last 2 years. I liked my first one so much , i bought a second and put it up for my son when he gets older. It is a medium sized semi-auto with a chromed lined barrel and it also has the rotating barrel system thats awesome and 100% reliable . It is high capacity (15 rds) and it doesnt have any stupid integrated key locks like taurus does or S&W . Here is a link....

Out of what you have, I'd go with the LCP...

But if you're wanting a carbine to shoot for fun, have you thought of the Walther G22 Carbine.. or the Walther P22....

Or you can get 2 of the lovely Hi-Point pistols.. =)

Thank You!

I want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my posting. After much debate I took a trip to my local gun shop to see what was available and ended up purchasing a Saiga 223 rifle. I reason I went with the Saiga is primarly because the pistols I really wanted were out of stock and the they had a wonderful price on the Saiga. The gun was pre owner but the previous owner came in to hard times and sold the gun when it had never been shot! The total purchase came to $295 after the background check. I am very pleased with this purchase and I look foward to getting out to the range. Also if anyone knows of a good scope to get with an illuminated reticle I would appreciate the advice.

Thanks Again!
